She and I just had the following conversation...
Sara: I need to watch cartoons in bed because they help me see in the dark.
Me: You can use your flashlight to help you see in the dark.
Sara: I think cartoons help me see better.
Me: We're not watching cartoons in bed. We can read stories.
Sara: But I like cartoons better than stories now.
Me: Well, reading stories makes us smarter.
Sara: Well, watching cartoons makes us prettier.
Me: I'm concerned about being smarter.
Sara: I'm concerned about being prettier.
Oh, my. What is in store for me?
For the record, I won; we read stories, and Sara is now hanging out in bed with her flashlight.
