When the girls and I were at the library one day this summer, I didn't have a lot of time to browse so I quickly grabbed Emily Griffin's The One & Only. I enjoyed it because the setting was between Dallas and a nearby fictional college town, and I recognized many references. However, overall it was a typical EG romance with a huge twist - the main character falls in love with the man who has long been her father figure. Kind of weird, for sure. Enjoyable enough, but I've learned - again - that I'm just not a romance novel fan.

My sister sent me Go Set a Watchman after she'd finished reading it. When it arrived, Steve told me not to read it because it would taint for me the greatest novel ever written (TKAMB). Then my sister told me to read it. So I did. I really loved it. Although it did change my view of some of the TKAMB characters, it gave me such appreciation for the story HL wrote along the way while coming to the masterpiece that is TKAMB. GSAW is definitely a draft, but reading it gave me such insight to what was going through her head as she worked to develop a most beloved novel. If you are a literary enthusiast of any degree, you need to read this book. As we already know, things and people are not always what they seem.
