School is in Session

We have just finished week two of the school year! Of course now that school has started, we're experiencing our hottest weather of the summer. Afternoon carpool has been s-w-e-a-t-y. The weekend before the first day of school, Emma had a soccer tournament - so HOT. She played great, had a good time, and we all spent the non-soccer hours in the pool, soaking up our final moments before the craziness set in.
I had to take this picture of our Coppertone girl look-alike!
The Friday before school started, I took the girls to Meet the Teacher. Their school always does MTT at 7:30 am, which was the earliest time of day these girls had seen in a long time! I miss many of their school events throughout the year because of the happenings at my school, so I'm always glad to be able to go to MTT with them.
Steve always walks them in on the first day of school.
5th Grade!
 1st Grade!
It's been a great start to the year, but I'm sure glad the weekend is here. Between the long days, busy evenings, and sleepless nights, there's so much exhaustion around here - but always worth the work and the ride!
