Little Miss Can't Be Wrong?

Sara got in trouble at school today.  Steve picked her up, so he heard the details first hand and had to relay them to me when I got home.  The whole thing boils down to a couple of tantrums that just didn't quit.  I'm not sure what the cause was, but it sounds like they started during lunch time, which resulted in an early nap time.  Sara woke up from her nap a full hour before the kids usually do, and threw another tantrum (again, not sure why), waking up the rest of the kids from their sound sleep.  That means all the parents probably got to take crabby, sleepy kids home with them today. Sigh.

This evening we talked about being nice to our teachers and friends at school.  We told Sara that tomorrow she needs to tell her teachers that she is sorry for being mean today.  To make sure she understood, I asked, "Sara, what are you going to say to Ms. Vera and Ms. Laura tomorrow?"  Her response: "Go away."  It was funny, but it was not the right answer.  After a fair amount of prompting, she got around to telling us she'd say "Sorry", but she wouldn't say it to us in a voice louder than a whisper.  We continued to practice before she went to bed tonight, so we'll see what happens when the humbling task is upon her (me?) tomorrow.  Sigh.

Hopefully it was just one of those days and Sara won't make a habit of subjecting us to troubling reports at pick-up.  At least daycare doesn't give suspensions. Sigh.

Sorry friend. This is such a trying age, but you are doing a great job. So many parents wouldn't even bother talking to their kids about their actions.
